5 WAGER STARS.
After reading this story , once again I need to be checked into RA (romance anonymous). My romance boxes are full to the brim and overflowing after completing this tale of love. 'The wager' was one of my most highly anticipated books on my 'to read' shelf this month.'The bet' is one of my, I-love-forever-and-ever books and I could not wait to get my hands on this story of Jake Titus and Char Lynn. Rachel Van Dyken did not disappoint, the wager delivered on all romantic counts and my heart is full to bursting with memories of this delicious tale and here are my loved up book thoughts ...
What's it all about?
Jake Titus is a millionaire with plenty of women at his disposal, he has never been concerned with matters of the heart and this playboy has made plenty of mistakes when it comes to his love life but things are about to change whether this romeo likes it or not. Char Lynn has been in love with Jake Titus ever since they were young school friends but how many times can you allow the love of your life to break your heart? especially when the love is completely unrequited. 'The wager' follows one heroes journey of self discovery, one heroines revelation of her worth and one crazy, meddling Grandma with a talent for match making that is utterly magical.
What did I love?
You'll find a plethora of misunderstandings, a dialogue amongst the characters that will have you laughing out loud and romance so sweet it'll knock your romance socks off. I loved the silliness of this book, it's not what I look for every time for the enjoyment factor of a book but Rachel Van Dyken writes this romantic comedy genre to absolute perfection. The characters are fascinating I whole heartedly fell in love with Jake Titus nothing appeals more than a character that goes through a transformation and the author mapped his changes with a twist of humour, heart and actually with a hint of realism. Jake won my romance heart over towards the end of the story and I made more than enough room for another Titus brother by the time the epilogue rolled around. Char had some personal issues she needed ironing out and in my opinion she was vulnerable without being annoying, she had enough about her to make me relate and connect with her and I was desperate to see her win the heart of this gorgeous brother. Grandma Nadine was as crazy as ever her antics brought the humour factor of the book well into the lime light and gave the book a real original story line and twist that had me laughing and swooning in equal measure. The story rounded off brilliantly I loved having a second chance glance into the loves of Travis and Kacey, I never wanted the story to end. This book was all I wanted and more I laughed, I felt the emotions of the characters, I fell in love and most of all I ended this book with a big smile on my face and a heart full of book butterflies, what a way to follow up the series after the success of 'The bet' well done Van Dyken you have a huge thumbs up from this romantic addict.
Final thoughts ...
This book has a well rounded blend of funny, romantic and well written storyline. I love the characters that this author conjures up and I was well satisfied with a book that I've been waiting for ever since finishing 'The bet' which happens to be one of my favourites of 2013. If you like your romance to be full of over the top comedy and drool worthy heroes then do not delay, go grab it readers. Enjoy ... Kisses.
