The Young Man From Atlanta
What I liked best abou this book is how giving Will’s wife is to the man that says he didn’t have any money. It was a very kind thing to do and most people would be greedy and would loan or give him any money. She should’ve looked more into what kind of guy he was and made sure that he really used the money for what he said he was going to.
One of the worse things I hated about this book was that Will’s wife lied to him multiple times but then got caught in her lies and had to tell Will the truth. I know many people do this, and most people know that once you make one lie, you have to make another lie to cover up the first lie. So, in the end you have many lies that you told and you have to confess that they were all lies and tell the truth of the situation.
I would read more plays by Horton Foote if I were to read more play. I don’t read many plays though so Horton Foote wouldn’t be my first choice if I were to pick a book to read.
This made me feel sorry for Will’s wife when she found out that the money she loaned to a guy who she thought needed the money for something very important. Also, I got angry when Will yells and treats his wife in a mean way just because she thought she was trying to help.
I learned that being greedy is very mean and you should be willing to share to what you have. You should also make sure that the money is being used for what you loaned the person for.
